I went looking in bookstores for bookjackets to gather inspiration from :)
Zine: The Yearly Minecraft Itch

The covers, page background, full page and spot illustrations were are painted with acrylic gouache, while the map, text and overlayed aspects, like the paper with world coords were all done digitally afterwards.

Here are some of the many, many screenshots I took of my 36hr playthrough on the itchitchitch world
So. I used the replay mod to gather all the reference shots from my playthrough. It records everything you see whilst playing but also allows you to go back and look around as much as you like to get different shot angles. First time using it so bit of a learning curve to get it set up (mostly fighting with minecraft vs loader vs mod versions) but incredibly useful.
This was the first draft- ended up still following the sameish pace but tried to theme it into a travellers notebook more than just a playthrough recount
